Welcome to the Gallery.

If you scroll down you'll see seven prints and a time lapse video of the making of one of them.  At the bottom of the page is an eighth print from an earlier time with a different subject and technique.

Clicking on the image or going to the "Large Scale Views" pages will show enlargements of any print.

The "Shop" page has more information if you're considering buying a print.

This is a small operation. I'm the artist, the printer and the shipper.

Here's the latest......  The Fullback.

The Fullback's got the ball and is swarmed with tacklers. He ends up with a "full back" including the other team's mascot clinging to his backside.

A Digital Print from an original iPad Pro painting.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Baseball Bedlam.  A scene of a crucial (and bad) call in a baseball game.  The reactions and non-reactions of the fans (or reluctant attendees) are as interesting as the actions of the players.

This is the last of my drawings made up of straight lines.  It suits the scene of objects radiating from the center but in the paintings below you'll see that I drew the images with almost all curved lines.  I like how it gives the impression of movement and adds to expression of the characters.

A Lithograph from an original painting of Ink and Watercolour on paper.  Size 20"x16" (508x406 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Casters and Catcher.  I favour the underdog, especially kids versus adults.  In this case, a fishing novice surprises the sophisticated, professionally equipped veterans.  The cat is interested too.

A Lithograph from an original painting of Ink and Watercolour on paper.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Dentist's Delight.  A hockey fight breaks out.  The combatants strike simultaneous blows and the teeth fly.  The exasperated official views from a safe distance.

A Lithograph from an original painting of Ink and Watercolour on paper.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Players and Parents.  A blustery Fall kids soccer game.  They’re oblivious to the weather but their parents are leaning into the wind and clutching their drinks just trying to weather the storm.  Meanwhile, the dog wouldn’t mind joining the ball chase.

A Lithograph from an original painting of Ink and Watercolour on paper.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

The Early Game.  For the kids, the puck is everything.  For the parents, coffee or sleep and warmth is far more attractive for an early morning hockey game.

A Lithograph from an original painting of Ink and Watercolour on paper.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Players Parade.  I've wondered what the players are thinking when they parade into the stadium surrounded by their mostly adoring fans.  Is it determination, fear, aggression or indifference.

A Digital Print from an original iPad Pro painting.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Fishing Fiasco.  All the attention on the big fish leads to unintended consequences.

A Digital Print from an original iPad Pro painting.  Size 16"x20" (406x508 mm). The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.

Here's a short video showing the creation of "Fishing Fiasco".  It reduces about 35 hours of drawing time to less than two minutes but doesn't include the time I spent staring at it while I wondered what to do next.

Campbell River, British Columbia.  This print is a departure in style and content compared to the previous artwork on the page.  For seven years I lived on Quadra Island and traveled by ferry to Campbell River five days a week to work.  This was the view from the ferry on a clear day.  It's an ink line and pointillism drawing done in the early 1990's so some of the scene has changed if you viewed it today.

A Lithograph from a pen and ink drawing.  Paper size: 29"x16" (736x406 mm).  Image size: 28"x15"  (711x381 mm).  The image is printed on an archival quality paper with a matte finish.
